THE NEW HARD TIMES

The New York Times is accepting videos featuring various Americans that lived during the Great Depression. These are great and am still working through them. I've really liked this one so far featuring Peter G. Holden. It reminds me that we need to be conscientious of others and embrace those around us. Not only during these tough economic times, but it's a good habit to have. I want a sense of community badly. My current living situation is nothing like a close-knit community. It's true that the lack of money brings people together and that fellowship with friends is a good investment of time and something worthwhile. Greet a neighbor today; plan a community dinner party. The weather is getting nicer, so there's no excuse not to.
