i stumbled across this body of work by heather mekkelson and really liked it. the titles bring life to each piece. my favorite is awoke early, and sipping his coffee, looked to the east for any light. (pictured above). mekkelson picks out minute details in natural disaster photographs and creates an insightful sculpture that bears testimony to the tragic events. i encourage you to look at every photo.
